"What is an "Avant-Garden"? Well, in order
to understand what the "Avant-Garden" is, one would have to understand where the name is derived from. (Other
than the song by Aerosmith.) Therefore, we go to Webster's Ninth Collegiate Dictionary where the words, avant-garde and
garden, are described in more detail.
The word "Avant-garde" is described as "an intelligentsia
that develops new or experimental concepts esp. in the arts". The word "Garden" is descibed as "a plot of ground where herbs,
fruits, flowers and vegetables are cultivated". Therefore, an "Avant-Garden" is a place where new or experimental concepts
are developed, grown and cultivated. A place where anything is possible.
This site is dedicated to such a "garden". A "garden"
filled with my artistic endeavors, both illustrative and photographic. A showcase where ALL are welcomed to view, explore
and critique. So observe as I plant my seeds and watch my garden grow....
